SUBSCRIPTIONS

The monthly/annual contribution is essential to save our area, increase our property and business values and for Heriotdale to become a world class industrial zone. The solution lies in our hands as a collective and to that end we have managed to get the financial support of 80% of the landlords in Heriotdale. The process:

  1. HiZ invoices monthly on the last day of the month (or annually for lump sums)
  2. The invoice is sent by way of email through an automated system called Zoho Books which is a free cloud based accounting system
  3. The invoice is to be paid in advance into the Forums Bank account (see bank details below)
  4. We require your
    1. Registered company name
    2. Name of person responsible for payment
    3. Email Address of person responsible for payment
HiZ COMMUNICATION – HiZ has 4 WhatsApp Groups
  1. Services Group – 120 participants on this group
    1. Communicate all issues in the suburb
    2. Communicate the progress being made and the wins achieved
  2. Networking Group
    1. Promote your company’s services and products, discuss your company’s issues and ask for advice from one another.
    2. Also benefit from bulk service deals from large corporates e.g. Insurance, Fibre etc.
  3. Protection Group – Immediate notification of any criminal activity is posted to these 20 participants including, SAPS, CPF, Private security companies and Forum members
  4. Monthly Meetings Group – We hold monthly meetings with the municipality and other stakeholders. We have 20 participants including Councillors, Forum Members, JMPD, SAPS & our service providers
HiZ SECURITY
  1. SECURITY PATROLS
    1. The Heriotdale Mobile Surveillance unit is run by BSG Security who do patrols of the Industrial Zone.
    2. BSG provide free armed response to existing contributors.
  2. SECURITY CAMERAS
    1. HiZ has installed multiple 360-degree domed and static cameras equipped with artificial intelligence.
    2. The cameras are monitored 24/7 from a control room
    3. The committee members have access to the cameras through an app on their phones.
  1. SECURITY BARRIERS – We have installed fencing and walling around the neighbourhood to minimize the illegal pedestrian entry points into the Zone.
  2. SECURITY STOP MUGGINGS – Many employees of the Zone were being mugged of their valuables on a weekly basis. Through mass vegetation cleanup and with the aforementioned initiatives the muggings have ceased.
HiZ POTHOLE BRIGADE
  1. We fill potholes on a regular basis to prevent disrepair
HiZ GRAFITTI & ILLEGAL SIGNAGE REMOVAL
  1. Painting over graffiti immediately as it occurs
  2. Removal of all signs on street polls, trees, and any unauthorized standalone signs
HiZ GREEN TEAM –Heriotdale Garden services are active weekly:
  1. Plant gardens
  2. Remove garbage
  3. Cut lawns and keeps islands and pavements clear
  4. Intensive deforestation of alien bushes and trees
  5. Also residents have taken to manicuring their gardens and cutting their lawns. The paving is kept free from weeds and sand and litter is removed on a regular basis.
MUNICIPAL CONTACTS

A comprehensive database of all Municipal Service Providers is well maintained and distributed. We have a decent relationship with the municipality

HiZ BRAND & MARKETING
  1. Real thought and care went into the creation of the HiZ brand. It incorporates the industrial nature of the zone, the railway lines, the ridge of white water as well as reflecting on the past gold mining activities. The vision is clear and embraces all neighbouring zones.
  2. 10 x small Heriotdale Industrial Zone Signs have been placed
  3. Large signs are scheduled to be installed.
  4. Website – heriotdale.co.za has been purchased and a website is under development.
COLLABORATION
  1. We have established an Umbrella Forum which is called EOJ (East of Joburg)
  2. 10 Industrial Zones from the East of Joburg are part of this group
  3. The chairpersons will be meeting monthly to discuss common issues, develop a joint strategy and engage with the City on a regular basis.
